Maldive Holidays

Maldive Holidays an Idyllic Choice of Faraway Destination

If you are after an extra special holiday this year, then a review of the Maldive Holidays on offer is a must.  The white sands and apartments right on the beach ensure you know from the moment you arrive that you are going to have a fantastic vacation.

For many the Maldive Resorts epitomise what we picture when we think of paradise, and a visit to the Maldives must surely be something everyone should aim to achieve at some point in their lives.

Maldive Holidays are very popular with divers, who swarm from around the world to this diving hot spot.  The seas teem with exotic and beautiful tropical fish, and stunning coral formations.  A scuba diving record was made here in 2006 for the largest number of scuba divers participating in one dive, with a grand total of 958 divers descending into the water at the same time (since overtaken by Indonesia in 2009).

The Maldives are comprised of nearly 1,200 islands and atolls in the Indian Ocean, making it arguably the lowest-lying country on earth.  With the height above sea level being typically little more than 3 feet, the Maldives' future hangs in the balance as we battle climate change.  As global warming causes the polar ice caps to melt and sea levels to rise, the Maldives' entire existence is in jeopardy.  Indeed, it was Maldives' President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom who first raised the issue of global climate change from the perspective of a small island nation to the U.  's General Assembly nearly two decades ago.The Maldives was the first country to sign the Kyoto protocol to fight global warming.
